Materials used


Serviette Magical Garden

rectangle wooden placemat (25 x 24 cm)
square wooden coaster (12 x 12 cm)
pencil
binder clips
Kaisercraft acrylic paint - white, sea breeze and lime
Mod Podge
paint brush
iron
baking paper
spray varnish
Kindy glitz
a strip of Kaisercraft rhinestones
ribbon


How to:

placemat and coaster

  • Basecoat the craftwood with one layer of white paint. Allow to dry.
  • Now apply a layer of Mod Podge on either top side of the placemat and the coaster. Allow to dry.
  • Cut out a 12 x 12 cm square of the serviette and and peel off the two back layers. Only use the top layer.
  • For the clipboard (placemat) roughly tear out the serviette border. You will have to piece the long side together.
  • Place the serviette pieces on top of the craft wood, cover with baking paper and iron over the top (cotton setting, no steam). Allow to cool before pulling the baking paper away.
  • Sponge the white background of the placemat, using white, sea breeze and lime acrylic paint from Kaisercraft or similar shades. Allow to dry.
  • To protect your work, seal it with 2-3 layers of spray varnish.
  • If desired, embellish with glitter and rhinestones

pencil and binder clips

  • Apply one coat of white acrylic paint over the area you want to cover. Allow to dry.
  • Cut out a strip of serviette and peel off the two back layers. Only use the top layer.
  • Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge over the white painted area and gently smooth the serviette strip on with your fingers. Let dry.
  • If desired, embellish with glitter, rhinestones and ribbon.
